Privacy
Your information
We keep this simple.
Accounts
An account is optional for solo play. If you make one, we store your player name, email address, a scrambled (hashed) form of your password, and when you joined and last signed in. Friends see your player name in co-op. We don’t sell or share any of it.
Cloud saves and co-op
While you’re signed in, the game backs up your save (your survivor, bag, day and world progress) to our server so you can pick it up on another phone. Co-op games pass through our relay server while you play; we keep a simple record of co-op sessions (who hosted, who joined and for how long) to keep the service running.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard is off unless you switch it on in your account. When it's on, other signed-in players can see your player name with your level, days survived, kills, containers searched and quests from your cloud save. Your email never shows. Being on the leaderboard also gives you a public profile page (dayfell.com/u/your-name) with those same stats and a shareable image, which anyone with the link can see. Switch it off any time and you disappear from the board and your profile goes away within a couple of minutes.
Friends
You can add other players as friends by their player name. Friends you've accepted can see whether you're online, your level, and, when you're hosting a co-op world, its join code so they can drop in. Friend invites can reach you by push or email only if you've switched those on under Notifications. Remove a friend any time and they stop seeing any of this straight away.
Emails
We only email you about Dayfell news and updates if you ask — by joining the list on the home page, or by switching emails on in your account under Notifications. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can change what you get any time. Account emails you ask for, like password resets, are always sent. We send email through Postmark, which delivers it on our behalf and doesn’t use it for anything else.
Phone notifications and in-game news
The game checks dayfell.com for news a few times a day so it can show new posts on the title screen and, if you allow it, as notifications on your phone. You choose which phone notifications you get in your account, and Android lets you turn them off completely.
Downloads
When you download the game we count the download. We don’t tie that count to you.
Spam protection
To stop spam and password guessing, we briefly keep your connection address (or a scrambled form of it) when you sign up or sign in. It’s cleared automatically.
Deleting your data
Reply to any Dayfell email, or contact us, and ask for your account to be deleted — we’ll remove your account, cloud save and settings.
